It depends on the customer service job that a person chooses that will determine what they will make per year. Some might not pay very much, others can pay quite well. It also depends on the hours the person will work, the experience they have, the education and credentials that the person has, as well as how well they do at the job. Most customer service jobs will offer opportunities that will increase the pay for those who prove that they can do the job well and affectively. Of course, not everyone who work in these customer service jobs is offered a salary, many are only offered a wage and work very few hours a week. The reason for this is that different people work in these different jobs for different reasons. There are many students who will take these jobs while they go to school, because many of these jobs offer the flexible hours they need. There are other people who prefer to take on jobs like these permanently as they enjoy what they do and feel that their job is the career that they want.

Some of these customer service jobs will offer a salary, but most of these are the ones where some education and credentials are required for the job. These are also the ones that typically offer more pay to entice people to go to school and then fill these jobs. The other jobs that usually offer a wage and even more flexible hours, such as servers and bartenders, tend to make much less and do not usually earn a salary. Of course, for those who have remained with the business long enough, they might actually be offered a salary at some point, especially if they get promoted into a supervisor or managerial position.

Before choosing a customer service job, a person needs to ask their selves what it is that they are interested in doing. They also need to ask their selves how much money means to them and whether they would really be happy doing a customer service job as their career. Different people like different things. There are a lot of people out there who are not overly concerned about the wage or salary they make. Their only concern is that they make enough to live well enough while they do the job that they enjoy. Some people prefer the simpler lives and don’t look to overcomplicate it. Others are more concerned about money and status than they are with dealing properly with the customers. They just see it as a job, not a career and these are the people who don’t usually choose a customer service job to have as a career. Then again, there are others who can see the opportunities that do exist with many of the customer service jobs out there. There are servers, bartenders, estheticians, hair stylists, customer service representatives; all offer their own special benefits and opportunities for anyone who is interested in pursuing them. Whatever a person decides, whether it is based on salary, wage or the job, it is important that the person is happy with the job they do because happiness tends to lead to the most success in the end.
