Teller Jobs
The purpose of a typical teller position is providing personal cash withdrawal and cash remittance facility at a bank or financial institution. Specific duties of a teller position include receiving from or issuing currency notes to customers, checking the authenticity of currency notes, counting the notes or amounts received to avoid discrepancies later, educating customers about sales and service delivery options, following the company prescribed security guidelines, following generally accepted banking regulations and policies, ensuring excellent customer service experience to customers, and performing other tasks related to a teller role. A teller typically reports to a branch manager.
A teller should have an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree. An MBA degree might be advantageous. Excellent customer service skills are a key trait for a teller position. Prior experience working as a teller may be advantageous. Thorough understanding of the customer's transaction requirements is essential.
